# API authentication

> Where the approved API authentication scheme will be documented.

  The External Integration API is not generally available. Nothing on this page
  is a production endpoint, credential, or response schema.

This page will mirror the security schemes in the approved OpenAPI document. It will not introduce a second, undocumented scheme.

Today there is no approved scheme to mirror. The [Getting Started authentication page](/getting-started/authentication) explains the same boundary: the 1Funnel Identity Platform will own API consumer authentication, and the concrete developer flow is unpublished.
